R3 Green Fashion Show
"Support Trash Fashion" competition, has been organised by Stillorgan College's Event Management class, and what a sparkling night it was!

The event took place on Thursday 26th March, in the Shelbourne Suite at the Stillorgan Park Hotel, and its M.C. was the happening Shona Ryan, from Spin 1038 Radio. The aim of the show was to give the students a working knowledge of event production, including sponsorship and fundraising. The competition was successful in raising €1,700 in funds for the college's designated charity the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The winning entrant was Katie Ryan, a sixth year student at Newpark Comprehensive School, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Katie designed a dress entitled Fare Frocks (above) which was made from 436 used bus tickets. Katie's design was judged to be the best out of 21 entrants and she won the coveted €500.00 prize money. The entrants were invited to design and make creations consisting of recyclable materials, and they certainty rose to the challenge. The event attracted entries from Drogheda Institute of Further Education in County Louth, Colaiste Dhulaigh, Raheny Dublin 5. Loreto College, Dalkey, County Dublin. Newpark Comprehensive School - Blackrock in Dublin and St. MacDara's Community College, Templeogue, Dublin 6W.
