Event Management DTXXX
(Fetac & Failte Ireland Accredited)

Course Aims
To Prepare students for a career in the Events industry or provide a foundation for further study at higher level. Students can progress to find work in event management companies, hotels and community projects. Progression to further study is also an option to either programs or in the wider travel and tourism industry.

A great emphasis is placed on practical event production in this course. Students must be prepared to work as part of a team and be involved in running a number of events during the academic year.

Work placement also plays a vital role in this course. Students may obtain work experience in event management companies, hotels, county councils, tourist boards and voluntary groups and community led projects, charities and NGO's.

Stillorgan College is unique in offering this practical multi-disciplined year course in Event Management. Students will be taught by lecturing staff with industry backgrounds in events, travel and tourism, media and design.

Entry Requirements:
This course will be confined to students who are genuinely interested in the field of Event Management. All candidates will be interviewed. Mature students are welcome on this course.

Course Duration:
1 academic year, (Sept-May) 4 days in the classroom.
