Art Exhibition in Dun Laoghaire County Hall

As part of the ongoing celebrations of 50 years of education at Stillorgan College of Further Education, the college recently held an exhibition of work by students from the Art Foundation and Photography courses based on the theme 'Sharing the Caring'.  The show was run in conjunction with the Social Inclusion Department of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

The students were honoured to have the exhibition officially opened by Cllr. Marie Baker, Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

There was unanimous praise for the quality of work on display and was a testament to all the hard work by both students and staff involved. The students totally embraced the theme of 'Sharing the Caring' in that much of the work was sold for charity and over €400 was raised for local charities.

"I found the Travel & Tourism course very practical and relevant to the working world. As well as helping me realise that I wanted to work in the Travel Industry, the course also helped me find a training opportunity which led to a full-time job. I am currently working in a busy long haul department with a leading travel company which would not have been possible without completing this course".

"I started this course with an interest in photography; I came out with a love of it and a desire to pursue it further. The course is great for anyone, but in particular, it forms a fantastic base for anyone wishing to do a third level degree in photography."
