Event Management Students raise €705 for Temple Street Foundation Jolly Jiingle
The Event Management students also organised a Food Campaign within the college in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. As part of the event and to promote our Green Campus Awareness the Event Management class built an ‘Eco Igloo’ from recyclable materials they collected within the college and sourced from Recreate. The Animation students showcased their skills through the penguin backdrop to accompany the Igloo.
The students would like to say a big thank you to all the businesses and individuals who contributed to the event raffle including The Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, Peaches and Lime Beauticians, Grafton Barbers, Tesco Stillorgan, Bradley’s Pharmacy, New Image Hair Salon, Dubray books, Rocks Jewellers, Rainforest Adventure Golf, Dundrum, Carol Gormley and Deirdre Murphy. The students would also like to say a big thank you to the photography students who captured the day so well.
Also on the day quizmaster Kevin Kimmage was assisted by Business & IT students in running a very successful and entertaining end of year quiz. 15 teams from various classes across the college participated. Great spot prizes were on offer and the winning team "Mulled Wine" won a fifty euro cash prize. Mulled Wine along with second place winners “Turkey Giblets” will go on to represent Stillorgan College at the DDLETB Grand Quiz final on Wednesday, 27th January.
Thanks to all students who participated and to all the businesses who donated spot prizes.
The Event Management course at Stillorgan College is now in its eighth year and has proven to be an excellent foundation programme for those wishing to progress to a higher education programme to pursue a career in the Event Management, Hospitality or Tourism sector. The one-year course gives students hands-on experience of organising an event from start to finish.
