Multimedia Students visit 3D4 Medical -  The World’s leading medical applications developer!

Recently some our Multimedia students were given the opportunity to visit 3D4medical's busy studio, kindly facilitated by their chief operations officer Rob Cairnduff. The students met the team and were introduced to the processes that a typical app would go through from initial stages through to production.

The 3D4Medical team study real anatomical structures and develop models in consultation with world-class medical knowledge. Then using an array of multimedia programs the models are then rendered, animated and programmed by a talented multimedia team. The anatomical models are then incorporated into apps, web sites, video and other delivery methods.

Stillorgan College run multimedia courses which teach the tools that 3D4Medical use, like 3D animation, video production, web authoring, story boarding, Photoshop etc. The visit was extremely relevant to the students and it was great to see the tools being used in a real world environment. They all had a fantastic time and would like to say a big thank you to all at the company and wish them all the best for the future.

"I started this course with an interest in photography; I came out with a love of it and a desire to pursue it further. The course is great for anyone, but in particular, it forms a fantastic base for anyone wishing to do a third level degree in photography."

"All the subjects on the course [Event Management] were relevant and they helped me when I went into the degree course because I had already studied parts of them. I feel like all the subjects I did now stand to me and I learned a lot in the year."
