Jolly Jingle Christmas Fair

Stillorgan College of Further Education held their inaugural Jolly Jingle Christmas Fair for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital on Wednesday 10th December. Organised by this year’s Event Management students, the fair raised over €1075 for this very deserving charity while at the same time allowing students to gain relevant practical experience of organising an event.

The students would like to say a big thanks to all the businesses who contributed to the event raffle including the Stillorgan Park Hotel, the Ski Centre, the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, Café du Journal, Cleary’s, M & S, Cleary’s, Peaches & Lime Beauty Salon, New Image Hair Salon, Eddie Rockets, Nimble Fingers, O Brien’s Sandwich Bar, the Cellar SuperValu, Leisurplex, Bradleys Pharmacy, Haven Pharmacy Midas Hair Salon, Rocks Jewellers, Butlers Chocolates, Dunnes Stores, HMV, Dubray Books & Easons.

The Event Management course at Stillorgan College is now in its seventh year and has proven to be an excellent foundation programme for those wishing to progress to a higher education programme to pursue a career in the Event Management, Hospitality or Tourism sector. The one-year course gives students hands-on experience of organising an event from start to finish.

"All the subjects on the course [Event Management] were relevant and they helped me when I went into the degree course because I had already studied parts of them. I feel like all the subjects I did now stand to me and I learned a lot in the year."
